In the cause of charity

Dear Brethren,

For many years each Chapter in the District has made a voluntary annual contribution towards the work of the Midlands Rose Croix Chapter of Improvement. This is a valuable learning and development resource for members of the Ancient & Accepted Rite in Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Shropshire and our own District. The Covid pandemic deprived the MRCCI of any opportunity to meet or support Chapters directly. This, together with prudent financial management of festivals held in recent years, has resulted in a build-up of capital reserves in excess of what the MRCCI considers appropriate for its needs.

At a recent AGM of the MRCCI the three Inspectors General agreed that, as its by-laws permit, a sum of £4,500 should be taken from the reserves and shared equally between the three Districts who would each give the money to its Provincial charities.

Mindful that every Rose Croix mason has his roots in the Craft and that progress towards the Warwickshire 2023 Festival had been hampered by the pandemic, I decided on your behalf to pass this "windfall" of £1,500 to the Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Bro. Philip L. Hall at the Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire’s annual meeting on Thursday 12th May 2022, as a donation from the District of Warwickshire Rose Croix. It is hoped this will be a useful contribution in the time remaining for the 2023 Festival whilst simultaneously reflecting well upon the Christian qualities associated with our Order, and I hope you will be supportive of the decision.

Yours sincerely and fraternally,

Stephen
